The names on the following list request that in lieu of giving them gifts on specified occasions, friends/family instead give them a check or money order for their specified charity.
Getting on or using the list costs one nothing; the idea came to me on the morning of Wednesday July 27th 2005... I was deeply disturbed the night prior by the starvation in Niger, Africa as presented by ABC News Nightline. I was led to believe lack of funds was part of the cause, while on my mind I was concerned with what to do with the usual gift cards I expected to be showered with on my birthday. What if the money-givers & needy knew of each other months prior? That third-world grandmother would maybe still be alive, that's the potential power to this list.
Members: Remind loved ones of your wishes before gift-giving occasions. Invite them to visit this site to see all who stand with you on this.
Non-members: Give to their charities. Members want that special occasion gift from you… they just want it for their favorite charity. If it's a big check be creative; frame its photocopy & wrap it!
